Many considered this area the greatest treasury of graffiti art. The world-famous Five Pointz. It was demolished in 2013 despite numerous pleas from artists around the world, including Banksy. I saw the building while taking the subway into the city one night, just after moving there in 2008, and made a plan to come back and photograph it. One very early morning - around 5 or 6am, I arrived with camera in hand and captured these images while the sun came up and the nightlife settled down.

I feel so grateful to have these images. What an amazing place and piece of history.
