80’s Kids Photo Shoot | Portrait Photography

80’s Kids | Goonies Shoot | Bronx Kids | Documentary Portraiture

This shoot was inspired by 80’s kids - and “The Goonies”. It was a simple concept shoot that grew from my own nostalgia for my childhood. Watching my kids grow up in the city surrounded by iPhones, social media, and born in the time of Covid, I grew increasingly nostalgic for my 80’s childhood: We were free, we played outdoors all day long, we got dirty and bruised up, and we’d come home with live animals and new friends. I wanted to capture that feeling in images. During the shoot, three of the kids skinned their knees - which I felt was very appropriate!
